As part of the state's efforts to support and stimulate maritime tourism, and in implementation of the political leadership's directives to increase the number of tourist trips arriving at Egyptian ports, Alexandria Port received the cruise ship AROYA today, Thursday, July 24, 2025, coming from the Turkish port of Kaş. This is its second voyage in July, as part of five scheduled trips for the coming period. The ship, flying the Maltese flag and operated by the shipping agent "Rhapsody moored at the port's marine passenger terminal at 6:30 a.m. with a total of 3,655 passengers on board, including 2,237 tourists and 1,418 crew members. It is scheduled to depart the port at 5:00 p.m. the same day bound for the Turkish port of Istanbul. The ship was received by a number of leaders from the Alexandria Port Authority including representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, and the Alexandria Governorate, as well as relevant security agencies. This was part of the joint coordination to ensure a smooth reception and prompt completion of procedure The Authority ensured the safe entry and escort of the ship from its approach to the port via tugs and pilot boats, under the direct supervision of the radar guidance tower. All technical and security measures were taken in accordance with the highest approved safety standards. The General Administration of Passenger Traffic supervised the reception of the tourists and facilitated their disembarkation procedures. They began their tour of the city, which included visits to Alexandria's most prominent archaeological and cultural landmarks. The tour was welcomed with distinctive artistic and folkloric performances by the Storm Troupe, led by Captain Ahmed Heikal. Souvenirs were also distributed, emphasizing the Authority's commitment to enhancing the tourism experience and promoting maritime tourism in Egyptian ports globally.
