Engineer \ Kamel al-Wazir and Dr. Muhammad Moait, Minister of Finance, held a meeting, To discuss ways to enhance cooperation in developing the work system in seaports, A gradual shift to a "single window", In order to reduce the release time and costs of customs clearance, And improving Egypt’s ranking in the World Bank’s index, “Facilitating Cross-border Trade,” And the "business performance" index, which helps to stimulate the investment environment, Attracting new investments and encouraging investors to expand their projects, This creates more job opportunities and leads to the strengthening of the structure of the national economy. The two ministers affirmed the necessity of pressing the timetable and accelerating the pace of work in preparing and updating the headquarters and infrastructure of the logistic centers in Alexandria and Dekheila ports, Safaga, Damietta and discussed the electronic link between the system of marine port authorities mechanisms, and «single window»; in order to achieve integration between them, and ensures reduced customs clearance time. During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the mechanisms of applying the system of pre-registration of shipments "ACI" as soon as the goods are shipped from the country of export, with the aim of reducing the time of research and analysis while the goods are in the port. The two ministers agreed to form a joint committee from the Customs Authority and the Sea Ports Authority to study the use of x-ray devices in detecting containers instead of unloading them, thus contributing to reducing the time of customs release. The two ministers discussed ways to modernize the storage yards system in Dry & Sea ports, develop Dry port of Salloum, and define the area designated for its customs authority, and for the car storage yard 12/28/2019.
