Within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s plan to maximize the role of transporting cargoes enclosed by railways from Egyptian ports to industrial zones, Captain \ Tarik Shaheen, Chairman of the General Authority for Alexandria Port, said that : three trains departed from Dekheila Port today, carrying 120 containers from Dekheila Port to Ain Sokhna. Shaheen added that the port provides all facilities to attract more companies working in this field to transport containers to and from Upper Egypt, the rest of the republic through the railway, pointing out that the General Minister of Transport, among the priorities of the Ministry of Transport's work plan, has put in place the necessity of maximizing the transportation of cargoes via railways and the Nile River to reduce the burden on roads and reduce congestion on them. Shaheen explained that transporting cargoes by rail helps to reduce the burden on roads that cost exorbitant sums to be maintained due to the heavy traffic of heavy cargoes transport vehicles, as well as contribute to reducing the cost of transportation and saving fuel, in addition to the good environmental impact that results from reducing the volume of pollutants. 6/11/2020
