In an effort to boost trade and support supply chains for industrial sectors, Dekheila Port welcomed the vessel THEOSKEPASTI on its maiden voyage, part of a series of planned trips. This visit reflects ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate large vessels. The THEOSKEPASTI, flying the Liberian flag, is a large dry bulk carrier with a capacity of approximately 72,000 tons of coal. It measures 225 meters in length, 32 meters in width, and has a draft of 14.22 meters. The vessel arrived from the United States. The ship docked at berth 92 in Dekheila Port, where it was handled according to an integrated operating system and in coordination with the relevant authorities. This ensured the speed and efficiency of loading and unloading operations and minimized berthing time. The ship was received by several leaders of the Alexandria Port Authority, headed by Rear Admiral, Chairman of the Central Administration of Dekheila Port. The ship's crew was welcomed, and assurances were given that all necessary support and facilities would be provided to ensure the work was completed quickly and efficiently. The ship is represented by the Atlantic Shipping Agency, while the loading and unloading operations are being handled by Syscotrans, on a bulk charter basis, for Misr Cement Company, as part of efforts to support the local market's needs for raw materials required by the industry. The port of Alexandria affirms its continued ability to receive giant ships and provide advanced logistical services, which enhances its competitiveness and supports trade and industry, in line with the state’s directions towards developing ports and achieving sustainable development.
