As part of the integrated efforts of state agencies concerned with tourism, and in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to promote tourism and the instructions of the Ministry of Transport, Alexandria Port welcomed the cruise ship Seven Seas Grandeur with a total of 1,300 passengers. The ship docked at the passenger terminal on Sunday morning, April 26, 2026, arriving for a tourist visit to the port. On board were 800 tourists and 500 crew members. The ship, operated by the shipping agent Dominion, arrived from the Italian port of Messina and is scheduled to depart the port on Tuesday evening, April 28, 2026, bound for the Greek port of Heraklion. The ship was received by a number of officials from the Alexandria Port Authority, in coordination with relevant authorities from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism, the Egyptian Tourism Authority, the Alexandria Governorate, and the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Alexandria Port Police Department. This was all part of the integrated efforts of state agencies concerned with tourism, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to promote tourism, and the instructions of the Ministry of Transport. The Port Authority ensured the safe entry and exit of the vessel, escorting it from arrival to berthing using tugboats and pilot boats, with close monitoring from the radar pilot tower, to guarantee the smooth and safe flow of maritime traffic. Passengers were received by the General Directorate of Passenger Movement, and their procedures were completed smoothly and efficiently, allowing them to enjoy their sightseeing programs and visit the most prominent tourist, historical, and cultural landmarks in Alexandria. The Port of Alexandria affirms its continued support for maritime tourism and international trade by providing the highest levels of operational readiness and integrated logistical services, thus reinforcing its position as a pivotal port on the Mediterranean and contributing to the national economy.
