The Alexandria Port Authority witnessed remarkable activity in cargo handling and navigation over the past 24 hours, with 43 vessels loading and unloading, most notably 29 general cargo ships 8 container ships and 4 oil tankers in addition to other multi-purpose vessels. Regarding cargo handling at Alexandria and Dekheila ports approximately 177,000 tons of various types of goods and strategic commodities were handled during this period most notably dry bulk cargo amounting to approximately 115,000 tons and liquid bulk cargo in addition to other quantities of containerized general, and transit cargo. 1,426 TEUs were handled over the course of 24 hours with 1,110 TEUs imported 295 TEUs exported and 21 transit containers. A total of 6,414 trucks entered Alexandria and Dekheila ports and a number exited. 6343 trucks with a total of 12757 trucks within 24 hours. Major General / Ahmed Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors, directed the necessity of adhering to insurance, industrial security, safety and occupational health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites and following standard environmental criteria in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its types.
