The meeting of the 65th session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Transport Ministers was held today, headed by Lieutenant General Engineer / Kamel Al-Wazir - Egyptian Minister of Transport, in the presence of the Minister of Transport of Djibouti and with the participation of the transport ministers in Bahrain, Tunisia and Algeria, members of the Executive Office and representatives of Arab unions and organizations, via video conference, at the beginning of the meeting, Lieutenant General Engineer \ Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President / Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to all the Arab ministers, his wishes for success and good fortune to the Council, and the appreciation and affection of the Egyptian people, who are always proud of their belonging to the Arab nation. The Minister of Transport confirmed that the Council is convening today to discuss many topics and issues presented in difficult circumstances and unprecedented challenges imposed by the threat of the emerging corona virus, which has had repercussions on human life and all aspects of economic life, adding that these challenges have imposed the solidarity of everyone locally and internationally in order to overcome the effects of these Pandemic, Today's meeting in light of these circumstances comes as a consolidation of our distinguished relations, and an affirmation of our common desire in light of these difficult circumstances to work to strengthen the march of Arab cooperation and coordination in the various fields of transport, and to build on what we have in common and mutual interests in a way that achieves the aspirations of our peoples towards further growth and progress. The Egyptian Minister of Transport indicated that the draft agenda in this session includes discussion of many topics of interest that aim to advance in various areas of transport in the field of land transport, support for land transport will be discussed within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and the challenges facing the land transport sector in the Arab countries in the field of maritime transport, a draft agreement will be discussed to regulate the maritime transport of passengers and goods between Arab countries, the economic role of the shipbuilding and repair industry and other maritime and port activities, and in the field of air transport, the revised draft of cooperation and joint action agreements will be discussed. In addition to expanding the membership of the Council of the Civil Aviation Organization. International ICAO and the Organization's Air Navigation Commission. Lieutenant General Engineer \ Kamel Al-Wazir, stressed during the meeting that the Arab Republic of Egypt is keen to implement everything that contributes to strengthening relations between Arab countries, and that the Ministry of Transport in Egypt works diligently in order to strengthen the link between Arab countries by land, sea and air, raising the efficiency of inter-transport and overcoming all difficulties Facilitating all procedures and harnessing all capabilities of the ministry and its bodies in planning, implementing and participating in transport projects at the local and regional levels, indicating his great confidence in the concerted efforts of Arab countries to advance the transport sector as it is the locomotive of economic and social progress in a way that achieves the common interests of our peoples, facilitating interdependence and strengthening the bonds of love and rapprochement in our Arab world.
