The Alexandria Port Authority's shipping and handling activities witnessed significant activity over the past 24 hours, with 41 vessels loading and unloading, including 29 general cargo vessels, four container ships, five oil tankers, and multi-purpose vessels. A total of 18 vessels also arrived and departed the port.Regarding cargo handling at the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, approximately 103,000 tons of various types of goods and strategic commodities were handled during this period, most notably dry bulk cargo, estimated at approximately 52,000 tons, in addition to quantities of containerized, general, and transit cargo.A total of 2,785 TEUs were handled in 24 hours, including 1,650 import containers, 1,030 export containers, and 105 transit containers. Truck traffic saw 1,878 trucks enter Alexandria and Dekheila ports, and 2,725 exit, bringing the total truck traffic in the 24-hour period to 4,603. In this context, the Authority emphasized the need for full compliance with insurance, safety, and occupational health procedures within all warehouses, yards, and work sites, as well as adherence to standard environmental standards in all port operations, in order to prevent all forms of pollution.
