As part of the state's efforts to support and stimulate maritime tourism, and in implementation of the political leadership's directives to increase the number of incoming tourist trips to Egyptian ports, Alexandria Port received the AROYA cruise ship today, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, coming from the Turkish port of Bodrum. This is its fourth trip in two months, as part of five scheduled trips for the coming period.

The Alexandria Port Authority (APA) has achieved a significant increase in vessel calls during 2024/25, reaching an unprecedented 6,932 vessel calls, compared to 6,738 in 2023/24, representing a 2.8% increase with a total of 194 additional vessels. In this context, bulk vessels led the way in vessel calls, witnessing a significant increase during 2024/25, with an increase of approximately 30.8% compared to 2023/24, receiving 712 vessels, compared to 544 vessels in the previous year.
