The General Authority of Alexandria Port, headed by Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen, received a delegation from the Maritime Authority of the Republic of Sierra Leone headed by Mr. Rex Bhonapha, Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation, and Mr. Sadiq Silla, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone in Cairo. In this regard, the Chairman of the Board of Directors received and welcomed the delegation and conveyed the greetings of the Lieutenant General / Minister of Transport - by visiting the Sierra Leonean side to the port of Alexandria, so that this visit would be a first step towards more fruitful cooperation between the two sides. For its part, the Sierra Leonean side conveyed the thanks of the Sierra Leonean government for the response of the Egyptian side to their desire to enrich joint cooperation and benefit from Egyptian expertise in the field of transport, especially maritime transport, especially since they are fully aware of the volume of development witnessed by the port of Alexandria and its importance as a pivotal port in maritime transport and being the link between Africa, the continents of Europe and Asia The visit included an inspection of the marine passenger terminal, the berths and the port museum. The Alexandria International Container Terminals Company was also visited to get acquainted with the container handling operations directly and the mechanisms of the operational process and the technology used in this regard.
