Trading and navigation traffic at the General Authority of Alexandria Port witnessed great activity during the past 48 hours. 89 ships entered and exited in 48 hours to the docks of Alexandria and Dekheila ports, and work is currently underway to load and unload 40 ships, most notably container ships, dry bulk and liquid. Container handling also witnessed great activity within 48 hours, as 3,400 equivalent containers were traded, with a remarkable convergence between the number of imported and exported containers, as outgoing containers constituted approximately 44.6% of the volume of containers traded. Regarding the movement of goods circulation in the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, approximately 135 thousand tons were traded during that period of various types of goods and strategic goods, including liquid bulk, dry bulk, general goods, and transit. Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors, directed the necessity of adhering to insurance, industrial security, occupational safety and health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites, and following standard environmental standards in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its forms.
