On Tuesday, 20/12/2022, a memorandum of understanding was signed regarding the establishment of a logistics area for the handling and storage of clean dry bulk cargo at Berth 85 in Alexandria Port, in the presence of His Excellency the Lieutenant General, Minister of Transport, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport in Cairo. The project aims to increase the capacity of clean dry bulk cargoes (grains) in Alexandria port through the establishment of complete logistics area on Berth 85/3, which is designated for grain handling and storage. His Excellency the Minister of Transport assured that the project will be implemented according to the highest environmental and technological standards, and the project's trading capacity reaches 5 million tons annually, and the length of the berth reaches 433 meters and a floor area of 35 thousand square meters. The signing was signed between the General Authority of Alexandria Port, represented by Mr. Rear Admiral/ Nihad Shaheen, Chairman of Alexandria port, and the Egyptian-Dutch Stevedoring Alliance EDSCO (Dutch Vitra Company and the Egyptian Al-Fateh Company), represented by Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, CEO of the project.
