Within the framework of the launch of the activities of the Intelligent Transport Exhibition for the Middle East and Africa TransMEA2021, which is being held for the fourth year under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic and organized by the Ministry of Transport led by Lieutenant-General / Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport. Captain / Tarek Shaheen - Chairman of Alexandria Port General Authority - signed a letter of intent to establish friendship relations with the Chinese port of Guangzhou. This important step comes within the framework of supporting and strengthening Egyptian-Chinese relations, which have witnessed fruitful cooperation in all economic and social fields, especially in the past six decades since the announcement of the founding of the new People's Republic of China, and within the framework of the Egyptian political leadership's direction towards supporting cooperation with the ports located in the path of the new Silk Road. This step is considered a new shift in the field of maritime cooperation between the two major ports and a starting point towards achieving effective cooperation in the fields of digitization, training, trade exchange, exchange of experiences and encouragement of investment. 11/11/2021
