Navigation and cargo handling have been organized in the Alexandria Port Authority during the past 48 hours. The outgoing and incoming container handling has witnessed remarkable activity, as the number of containers handled in Alexandria and Dekheila ports reached 2,457 equivalent container. More than 185 thousand tons of goods of various types and strategic goods, including liquid casting, dry casting and general goods, were traded within 48 hours. In a related context, the navigational movement within the Alexandria and Dekheila ports witnessed remarkable activity, as 41 ships entered and exited to the berths of the two ports, and work is currently underway to load and unload 40 ships. Within the framework of the Alexandria Port Authority’s keenness to protect the environment, security and safety, Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors, directed the necessity of following up the procedures of insurance, industrial security, safety and occupational health in all warehouses, yards and work sites, as well as following the standard environmental standards in all port operations to prevent Pollution in all its forms and follow-up of the water surface, while taking all precautionary measures to confront and prevent the spread of the effects of the Corona pandemic.
