The movement of navigation and the cargo handling in the General Authority of the Port of Alexandria during the last 48 hours was a remarkable activity, as 48 ships entered and exited the berths of the ports of Alexandria and ElDekheila within 48 hours, and work is currently underway to stevedore 30 ships, most notably container ships and dry and liquid bulk. Goods, the container handling movement also witnesses a great activity where 143 thousand tons were handled during that period of various types of cargoes and strategic commodities such as liquid bulk, dry bulk and general cargo. With regard to containers, about 2850 TEU were handled in the ports of Alexandria and El Dekheila. Mr. Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen Ali - Chairman of the port directed the need to follow up on weather observations to ensure the safety and conduct of navigation in the port, as well as adherence to insurance and industrial security, safety and occupational health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites, and to follow standard environmental standards in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its types.
