120 containers exit via railways from Dekheila port to Ain Sokhna

Within the framework plan of the Ministry of Transport’s to maximize the role of transporting containerized cargoes by railways from Egyptian ports to the industrial zones, Captain \ Tariq Shaheen, Chairman of Alexandria Port General Authority, said that: during the past twenty-four hours, three trains carrying 120 containers departed from El Dekheila Port to AlAin ElSokhna. Shaheen added that the port will continue to provide all facilities to attract more companies working in this field to transport containers to and from Upper Egypt and the rest of the republic via the railway, indicating that his Excellency Lieutenant General Engineer \ the Minister of Transport, has placed among the priorities of the Ministry of Transport's work plan the necessity of maximizing the transport of cargoes through Railways to reduce road load and reduce overcrowding. Shaheen explained that transporting cargoes by railroad helps reduce the burden on roads that cost excessive sums to maintain due to the heavy traffic of heavy cargoes transport trucks, as well as contribute to reducing the cost of transportation and saving fuel, in addition to the good environmental impact that results from reducing the volume of pollutants. Reda El-Ghandour, the formal speaker of the port, said that the three trains carry 120 containers, 40 containers per train, these cargoes are raw materials imported from Poland for a factory in Al Ain El Sokhna. 16/12/2020
