Alexandria Port Authority reopened the strait this morning after ensuring that the weather conditions were stable, as the navigation movement and cargo handling returned to normal state The number of ships berthed in the docks of the port and currently are doing the stevedoring activities has reached to be 29 ships, including 4 container ships, 3 petroleum ships and 22 general cargo ships, in addition 2 ships on the port's internal anchorage, and instructions have been issued to all concerned port departments to follow up. Continuous weather observations in expectation of any changes in wind intensity and wave height that may lead to taking precautionary measures related to marine navigation. It is good to mention that with the start of the return to normal shipping traffic, it is expected that the berthing rates and cargo handling activity will increase during the next few hours at record rates.
