Captain / Tariq Shaheen, Chairman of General Authority of Alexandria Port, said that the port is having the development and modernization of security inspection devices and equipment, in order to ensure the continuation of tight control over the gates to ensure the preservation of the country's security. Shaheen added that the development includes carrying out comprehensive maintenance for the old devices, and buying 74 new devices, as the uses of these devices vary to include 22 manual checks, 14 bags for detecting handbags, 2 devices for detecting travel bags, and 12 devices for detecting Minerals, and 14 devices for detecting explosives and drugs, and 8 devices for detecting people, and 3 devices to examine private cars, in addition to the devices in the port. Captain / Shaheen explained that the development and modernization of security inspection devices and equipment comes within the framework of the port plan for the various development works to improve the level of performance and reach Alexandria port to the world. The formal speaker of port, Reda El-Ghandour, said that Captain / Tariq Shaheen was the head of security committee at the port today to discuss determining the locations of the new devices according to the vision of the concerned authorities, in the presence of admiral / Ezzat Abdel-Qader, director of the General Department of Alexandria Port Police and the specialists, and other relevant authorities. 14/12/2019
