The handlingand navigation movement at the General Authority of Alexandria Port witnessed great activity during the last 48 hours, as 57 ships entered and exited in 48 hours to the berths of the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila. Work is currently underway to stevedore 38 ships, most notably container, dry bulk and liquid ships. Traffic has also been witnessed. Container handling was very active within 48 hours, as 4,126 T.E.U were handled with a noticeable convergence between the number of imported and exported containers, as exported containers constituted approximately 43% of the volume of containers handled. Regarding the movement of cargoes handling in the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, approximately 258 thousand tons were handled during that period of various types of cargoes and strategic goods, including liquid bulk, dry bulk, general cargoes, and transit. Rear Admiral /Nihad Shaheen Ali, Chairman of the port directed the necessity of adhering to insurance and security procedures.
