1- The Prime Minister witnesses the signing of a cooperation protocol to simplify customs release procedures for cargoes in ports

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, witnessed the signing ceremony of a cooperation protocol on simplifying customs release procedures for cargoes in the ports. Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazer, Minister of Transport, Eng. Yahya Zaki signed Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone. The cooperation protocol comes within the framework of the state's constant endeavor to reduce the time for releasing all cargoes and commodities in accordance with international standards, by providing the latest information technologies, comprehensive automation of the entities, companies and shipping agencies operating inside the ports, thus contributing to the improvement of Egypt's global ranking in the speedy completion of customs procedures according to Standards of the World Customs Organization, pushes towards improving the work condition, stimulating investment, helping to advance the national economy. A number of the main axes of the agreement are integrated to achieve the objectives of this protocol, starting with the development of the central data center of the Customs Authority building in Alexandria, through the development of information networks devices, insurance devices and servers, storage units, operating licenses and backup licenses for each of the main data center, some administrative buildings of the authority Inside Alexandria port. The axes include the development of some ports, regions and yards of the Customs Authority, by providing 4 highly efficient computers at the ports of Amiriya and Salloum, securing devices and servers, equipping 20 sites in the places of inspection yards in the ports with the latest devices, computers, printers, scanners, photocopy machines for the inspection officials from the Customs Authority, with Providing the equipment and computers needs of inspection yards at Cairo Airport. The axes also include the provision of external link lines for inspecting bodies, including the provision of optical fiber lines to connect external to the number of 38 ports and outlets in the main data center of the Customs Authority in the Administrative Capital, with the provision of the needs of the National Food Safety Authority from the external link lines in the governorates and ports with the main center in Cairo, within The plan to provide the infrastructure for the Digital Egypt project. The axes of the agreement included the implementation of civil works in the ports of the Ministry of Transport and the others of the General Authority for the Economic Zone of the Suez Canal, including the provision of places for the employees of the inspection bodies in the yards inside the ports, the provision of internal information networks at the sites of the inspection yards, as well as the internal fiber linkage between the site of the inspection yards and the main data center.
