In a statement issued by Alexandria Port Authority announced that: at exactly 1550 pm today, a fire broke out on the second floor of one of the buildings belonging to the Customs Authority (Roma warehouse) and that the warehouse consists of a ground floor and four floors on an area of approximately 1,300 square meters in the second zone of Alexandria port and a warehouse with cargoes. The statement indicated that at 1600 hours, the civil protection firefighting trucks arrived and started immediately dealing with the fire, with the Assistance of the Navy firefighting trucks and the firefighting trucks of Alexandria Governorate, currently a total of 16 fire engines dealing with the fire, all nearby area has also been evacuated due to the destruction in the building, parts of the third and fourth floors have fallen while continuing to fight and control the fire, there are no losses in lives or equipment, and no explosions have occurred, the physical losses will be surveyed and listed by the customs authority as soon as the fire is extinguished, and the reasons will be known by the port police and security authorities. 14/12/2020
