The movement of Handling and navigation at the Alexandria Port Authority witnessed a remarkable activity during the past 48 hours, as 68 ships entered and exited the docks of Alexandria and Dekheila ports in 48 hours . Work is currently underway to load and unload 42 ships, most notably general cargo ships with 21 ships, dry bulk with 13 ships, containers with 5 ships, and liquid bulk with 3 ships. 5345 TEUs were also handled during 48 hours , as the number of imported containers reached 2814 TEUs, while the number of exported containers reached 2531 containers, representing approximately 47.4%, in a remarkable convergence between exported and imported containers. Regarding the movement of goods handling at the Alexandria and Dekheila ports, approximately 251 thousand tons were handled during that period of various types of goods and strategic commodities, including liquid bulk and bulk Dry, general cargo and transit. Major General/ Ahmed Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors, directed the need to adhere to insurance, industrial security, safety and occupational health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites and to follow standard environmental criteria in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its types
