In a new achievement to be added to its accelerating successes, Alexandria Port received the giant CMA CGM OSIRIS this morning, Thursday, June 19, 2025. This is the largest ship in the port's history to date. The ship, flying the Maltese flag, docked at Berth (27) of the "Long Live Egypt" Multipurpose Terminal, setting a new record with a total tonnage of approximately 156,000 tons, a length exceeding 366 meters, a width of 51 meters, a draft of up to 16 meters, and a capacity exceeding 15,000 TEUs. This event comes less than a week after the Tahya Misr terminal at Alexandria Port received the giant ship MAERSK HONG KONG, which was preceded by MSC ANNA at Dekheila Port earlier in the same month. This reflects the escalating pace of maritime achievements and the growing attractiveness of Alexandria's ports to major international shipping companies. The Maritime Traffic and Services Departments completed all technical and operational support procedures for the ship with high efficiency and professionalism, including towing, guidance, and navigation insurance services. In a related context, navigation and handling activity at the Alexandria Port Authority witnessed remarkable activity over the past 24 hours, with 33 ships arriving and departing. 43 ships are currently loading and unloading at Alexandria and Dekheila ports, including 30 general cargo ships. The volume of handled goods reached approximately 99,000 tons, including various types of general cargo and containers, including 2,185 containers, of which more than 47% were exported.
