The Alexandria Port Authority announced its return to the Lloyd's List of the Best Container Ports for 2025. The port ranked 90th on the Lloyd's List One Hundred Container Ports 2025, a leading global authority in maritime transport and container handling. This ranking represents an important step that reflects the Port of Alexandria's position among major international ports and confirms the success of the development and modernization plans implemented by the Egyptian state to enhance the port's capacity to handle container and cargo traffic, keeping pace with the requirements of global trade and modern supply chains. Over the past two years, the port has witnessed an unprecedented boom in ship traffic and cargo handling, with volumes reaching record levels. Furthermore, the port has introduced modern technologies to manage quays and container yards, which has contributed to raising operational efficiency and increasing the capacity to accommodate giant vessels. The Authority emphasized that this would not have been possible without the combined efforts of port workers, the continued support of the political leadership and the Ministry of Transport, and the fruitful cooperation with local and international partners and investors, most notably global terminal operators, who have contributed to improving operational efficiency and increasing capacity. The Authority is currently working on completing major strategic projects, most notably the "Long Live Egypt 2" multipurpose terminal on Berth 100 at Dekheila Port, as well as the Mex Port project. These projects will enhance the port's competitiveness in the future, positioning it as the Greater Alexandria Port and a regional hub for trade and logistics, paving the way for further advancement in global rankings in the coming years.
