As part of the state's efforts to support and stimulate maritime tourism, and in implementation of the political leadership's directives to increase the number of incoming tourist trips to Egyptian ports, Alexandria Port received the cruise ship Resilient Lady on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, arriving from the Turkish port of Istanbul. The ship, flying the Bahamas flag and operated by the shipping agent Inchcape, docked at the port's passenger terminal this morning with a total of 3,545 passengers on board, including 2,399 tourists and 1,146 crew members. It is scheduled to depart the port this evening, bound for the Greek port of Mykonos. The ship was received by a number of leaders from the Alexandria Port Authority, including representatives from the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, and the Alexandria Governorate, as well as relevant security agencies. This was part of joint coordination to ensure a smooth reception and prompt completion of procedures. The Authority ensured the safe entry and escort of the ship from its approach to the port via tugs and pilot boats, under the direct supervision of the radar guidance tower. All technical and security measures were taken in accordance with the highest approved safety standards. The General Administration of Passenger Traffic also oversaw the reception of tourists and facilitated their disembarkation procedures, enabling them to begin their tourist program in the city.
