The Alexandria Port Authority received the ANJI PROSPERITY, operated by COSCO, on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. This vessel, the world's largest RoRo/Car Carrier, is making its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean Sea since entering service in August of this year. The ANJI PROSPERITY (IMO registration number 1021403) is the largest car carrier ever received by the Authority. Measuring 228 meters in length and flying the Liberian flag, it has a draft of 10 meters, a gross tonnage of approximately 88,000 tons, and an unprecedented capacity of 25,000 vehicles. The ship completed unloading its cargo destined for Alexandria Port immediately upon arrival. The Alexandria Port Authority had prepared in advance to receive the vessel by taking all necessary proactive measures as soon as it received notification of the berthing schedule, from the time the ship departed Singapore on November 11 until its transit through the Suez Canal on November 25. These preparations included studying the berthing plan and ensuring the readiness of the designated quay in terms of length and depth to accommodate such giant vessels. In this context, the Authority's relevant departments directed the traffic and maritime services departments to provide full technical and operational support during the towing and pilotage operations, ensuring the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism. This included close monitoring of all stages of arrival and berthing via the advanced technical systems at the pilotage tower, which contributed to the smooth execution of the operation in record time. This event confirms the Alexandria Port Authority's ability to efficiently handle the newest and largest vessels in the world, reinforcing its position as a regional hub port capable of accommodating the growing volume of global trade.
