Major General / Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hawash - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Port Authority and Major General / Mahmoud Khodair, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trans Egypt Terminal Company for the Operation of Terminals TMT and specialists at the station, received a delegation from the Republic of Djibouti headed by the Chairman of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority today, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, during their visit to the Tahya Misr Multipurpose Terminal to learn about the successful Egyptian experience in implementing giant infrastructure projects in the field of ports and maritime transport industry. This visit comes upon an invitation from Lieutenant General / Kamel Al-Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport to the Djiboutian side to visit Egypt to exchange experiences and discuss the possibility of enriching joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various transport fields, especially in the field of maritime transport and logistics. The visit to the Tahya Misr Multipurpose Terminal included an introduction to the terminal, which was inaugurated under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the Republic in June 2023, on an area of 570 thousand square meters and with quay lengths of 2450 meters and depths ranging between 14.5 - 17.5 meters. The terminal is operated and managed by TMT, which includes the CMA CGM Alliance and EGMPT. The visit also included an introduction to the terminal's capabilities and advanced operational and technical aspects that rival the largest global terminals, as well as a field visit to the terminal's quays to inspect the workflow mechanisms on the ground in terms of loading, unloading, storage and organizing truck traffic.
