On Tuesday, 9/28/2021, the Alexandria Port Authority received a Korean diplomatic delegation headed by His Excellency Ambassador \ Hong Jin-wook, Ambassador of South Korea. They were received by Captain \ Tarek Shaheen, Chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority Board of Directors. This visit comes in light of the good relations between the Egyptian and Korean sides, and the directives of Lieutenant-General \ Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport, to support and strengthen the bonds of joint international cooperation in the fields of transport, especially in the maritime transport industry. The visit dealt with discussions on ways to develop aspects of joint cooperation between the Alexandria Port Authority and Korean ports, especially in light of the Korean side's keenness to participate in port investment projects in Egypt and the Egyptian side's keenness to support the joint maritime trade movement and benefit from the experiences gained at the international level. It is worth mentioning that a joint memorandum of understanding had been signed between the port of Alexandria and the South Korean port of Busan in 2015. The endeavors of the two parties towards achieving the optimum benefit from this memorandum were discussed, which is mainly concerned with exchanging experiences and training in technical and operational fields and the latest technical means in the field of industry Shipping. The visit concluded with a visit to some of the most important investment projects in Alexandria Port, where the South Korean delegation praised the professional vision of Alexandria Port in the fields of development, operation and concern for safety and environmental standards. And the continuous endeavor by the port of Alexandria to consolidate international relations with ports and friendly countries to achieve common benefit and benefit from the elements of experience gained within the framework of the Egyptian government's keenness to advance the wheel of development in all fields. 28/9/2021
