In line with the directives of Mr. Lieutenant General / Kamel El-Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, towards continuous work on developing and improving performance rates in Egyptian ports, in order to support the achievement of the state’s vision to become a leading global center in the fields of transport, trade and logistics,The Alexandria Port Authority continues to implement its development plans to raise operational efficiency and maximize the utilization of the port's capabilities.The Alexandria Port Authority witnessed a significant increase in cargo handling rates during December 2025, with the total volume handled reaching approximately 7 million tons.Achieving an increase of 7.7% compared to December 2024, which reflects a clear improvement in operational performance indicators and increased activity rates at the port.In a related context, the number of ships calling at the port, which reached 441 ships, witnessed a remarkable increase, especially container ships, which numbered 196 ships.Achieving an increase of 16.7% during December 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year.The frequency of liquid bulk carriers also saw an increase during December 2025, with an increase of up to 14%, as 57 liquid bulk carriers were received during the month in question. These positive indicators in trading volumes and shipping activity reflect the ongoing efforts of the Alexandria Port Authority to develop its work system.And to improve operational efficiency and enhance coordination between the various entities operating in the port, in order to ensure the smooth movement of ships and the speed of handling goods;It also affirms the Authority’s commitment to implementing best operational practices, providing the necessary technical and logistical support, and responding effectively to the requirements of shipping lines and port users.This will contribute to improving the level of services and enhancing the competitiveness of the port of Alexandria at the regional and international levels.
