Captain \ Tarik Shaheen, Chairman of The General Authority of Alexandria Port, said : that the port witnesses an activity in the work movement, Tuesday July 15th 2020, where there were 72 ships, 14 ships arrived, 11 ships left, the number of ships operating on the berths in stevedoring reached to be 29 ships among them are 5 container ships, 16 general cargo ships, and 4 liquid bulk vessels being unloaded, There are also 3 ships in the internal anchor, 17 ships in the anchor, 8011 public trucks have entered and exited to and from the port during the last 24 hours. Captain \ Shaheen added that the cargo movement department has recorded and followed the movement of stevedoring as incoming cargoes with weight 93 thousand tons are being unloaded, exported cargoes with weight 30 thousand tons are being loaded, the number of exported containers reached to be 1726 containers, While the number of imports reached to be 1656 containers. Reda El-Ghandour, the formal speaker of the port, said : That Captain \ Shaheen held a meeting with port leaders to assess the work of all departments during the previous financial year, presented the plans during the current financial year, where the port president called on all leaders to make every effort to increase the rates of stevedoring, Facilitating all procedures and overcoming obstacles to ensure the enter and exit of trucks and cargoes in a safe and secure manner, while taking all precautionary measures approved by the Egyptian government and the World Health Organization to prevent the emerging corona virus. Al-Ghandour added that the month of June witnessed an increase in performance rates compared to July of the previous year, as 5,867.10 was traded in June 2020, compared to 5.308.757 tons in June.
