In implementation of the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General / Kamel AlWazer - Minister of Transport - and his continuous follow-up to the efforts of Alexandria Port in all fields, including the areas of environment, quality, safety and occupational health, the Alexandria Port Authority has succeeded in obtaining the ISO 14001: 2015 Environmental Management System standard specification certificate for environmental protection For the first time in its history, which has a major impact in raising the global environmental classification of Alexandria port, as it is one of the essential steps within the framework of the Alexandria Port General Authority under the leadership of Captain \ Tarek Shaheen to transform into a green port by working in accordance with international standards in protecting the environment. The authority was also able to raise its global classification in the standards specifications for occupational safety and health by obtaining the ISO 45001: 2018 certificate; This is in addition to the transition from ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Certification to the new name ISO 15001: 2015, which was done after undergoing many hypothetical tests to assess the performance of the Authority’s employees during the occurrence of risks of all kinds and to limit their presence and deal professionally during them, The matter which resulted in the certification of obtaining these certificates by the international awarding committee comfortably after evaluating the actual results of those tests. In this regard, Captain / Tarik Shaheen, Chairman of Alexandria Port Authority, indicated that this achievement was made possible by the efforts of the employees responsible for the success of this system, which allows the authority to keep pace with international developments in the world of maritime transport and ports. Its effect is that the port of Alexandria is now comparable to European and international ports in various fields of quality.
