The General Authority of Alexandria Port, headed by Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen, Chairman of the Board of Directors, received a high-level Singaporean diplomatic delegation headed by Ambassador GOH KIAN, the Singaporean ambassador in Cairo. This visit comes within the framework of a series of direct and virtual meetings that were held between the two sides in accordance with the directives of the political leadership, organized by the Ministry of Transport and the Maritime Transport Sector, to discuss aspects of joint Egyptian-Singaporean cooperation in the field of maritime transport, including investment projects, digital transformation and training. The visit included an expanded meeting that dealt with the most important investment projects in the port of Alexandria and ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation with the Singapore Ports Authority PSA and a number of Singaporean companies, where the two sides expressed their keenness and firm desire to strengthen aspects of joint cooperation. The visit also included a field tour through which some investment projects were inspected, especially the multi-purpose Tahya Misr station on berths 55 to 62 in Alexandria Port, as well as the Authority's Museum and the tourist passenger station. At the end of the visit, the Singaporean ambassador noted that he had found many investment opportunities and promising areas in the Alexandria Port Authority, which the Singaporean side is interested in participating in within the framework of the distinguished Egyptian-Singaporean relations.
