The circulation and navigation movement at the General Authority of Alexandria Port witnessed great activity during the last 48 hours, as 62 ships entered and exited in 48 hours to the docks of Alexandria and Dekheila ports. Work is currently underway to load stevedore 40 ships, most notably container ships, dry bulk and liquid. Container handling activity also witnessed great activity within 48 hours, as 4,333 T.E.U( equivalent containers ) were handled with a remarkable convergence between the number of imported and exported containers, as exported containers constituted approximately 45% of the volume of containers handled . Regarding the movement of goods circulation in the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, approximately 209 thousand tons of various types of goods and strategic goods were handled during that period, including liquid bulk, dry bulk, general goods, and transit. Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen Ali, Chairman of the Board of Directors, directed the necessity of adhering to insurance, industrial security, occupational safety and health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites, and following standard environmental standards in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its forms.
