The quantities of general merchandise traded during January of this year increased by 39% over January of the previous year, bringing the total quantities of merchandise traded in this month to more than 5.6 million tons of various types of merchandise. More than 135 thousand TEUs were handled in Alexandria and Dekheila ports, an increase of 4% over the number of containers handled during January of the previous year. The volume of goods exported through the Alexandria Port Authority reached 1.6 million tons during January 2022, an increase of 66.7% over the same month of the previous year.
