The Alexandria Port Authority had already prepared to receive the giant ship, taking all necessary proactive measures as soon as it received notification of the MSC ANNA's mooring schedule. These preparations included studying the berth planning and ensuring the readiness of the designated dock, in terms of length and depth, to accommodate this type of modern, giant vessel. In this context, Rear Admiral Ihab Mohamed Salah, Chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority, directed the Maritime Traffic and Services Departments to provide all types of technical and operational support during towing and pilotage operations, ensuring the highest levels of professionalism and efficiency. The pilots, pilotage crews, and the Authority's marine units ensured the safe navigation of the ship from its entry into the port, through the waterway, until the completion of the berth and mooring process with the highest levels of safety. All stages of arrival and mooring were monitored by advanced technical systems at the pilot tower, contributing to the smooth completion of the berth operation in record time. This event confirms the Alexandria Port Authority's ability to handle the world's largest and most modern vessels, enhancing its position as a regional hub port capable of handling growing global trade.
