The Alexandria Port Authority, headed by Major General /Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors, hosted a high-level delegation from the Kenyan ports, headed by Mr./ William Ruto, Chief Administrative Officer of the Kenyan Ports Authority This visit comes after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Alexandria Port Authority and the Kenyan Ports Authority by Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, during the recently held Egyptian-Kenyan Presidential Summit During the visit, discussions were held on how to activate the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two parties and how to benefit from Egyptian expertise in the field of port management and exchange of knowledge, expertise, training and capacity building between the two parties, as well as discussions on mechanisms for implementing joint projects and enriching trade exchange and navigation movement between the Port of Alexandria and the ports Kenya and exploiting their strategic geographical location in the African continent. The visit included a field tour to both the passenger terminal and the Tahya Misr multi-purpose terminal, and an inspection of the port's docks and the lock linking the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile River, as it is one of the multi-modal transportation means available in the port and linking it to the heart of the African continent.
