Major General Ahmed Hawash, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Port Authority, received the scientific research team at the Egyptian-Japanese University, headed by Prof. Dr. Moheb Mina Iskandar, Professor of Coastal Engineering and Head of the Hydrodynamics Department at the Coastal Research Institute at the National Water Research Center, and Dr. Mahmoud Sami Sharaan, Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Engineering at the Egyptian-Japanese University of Science and Technology. This meeting comes within the framework of the cooperation protocol concluded between the Alexandria Port Authority and the Egyptian-Japanese University regarding the preparation of a study on the impact of climate change on the Greater Alexandria Port and the effectiveness of the Authority's plan to adapt to expected climate change over the next 100 years. The scientific research team at the university cooperated with the concerned departments of the Alexandria Port Authority, where the study resulted in the effectiveness of the measures taken by the Alexandria Port Authority towards preserving the Greater Alexandria Port from any expected effects of climate change, especially the rise in sea level during the next 100 years, as several breakwaters are currently being built in the middle port, which will contribute significantly to improving the operation of (Alexandria Port - Max Port - Dekheila Port) during the next 100 years. The study also confirmed that the Authority's plan to develop its ports was developed according to scientific studies that have sound foundations
