During the past 48 hours, the movement of navigation and the handling of goods at the General Authority of Alexandria Port has witnessed remarkable activity. As 55 ships entered and exited the berths of the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila within 48 hours, and work is currently underway to load and unload 29 ships, most notably container ships and dry and liquid bulk. The movement of goods trading was also organized, as approximately 129 thousand tons were traded during that period of goods of various types and strategic commodities such as liquid bulk, dry bulk and general cargo. With regard to containers, about 2020 equivalent containers were handled in the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila. Mr. Rear Admiral Nihad Shaheen Ali - Chairman of the Board of Directors directed the need to follow up on weather observations to ensure the safety and conduct of navigation in the port, as well as adherence to insurance and industrial security, safety and occupational health procedures in all warehouses, yards and work sites, and to follow standard environmental standards in all port operations to prevent pollution in all its forms.
