The Minister of Transportation his Excellency Lieutenant General Eng. / Kamel ElWazeer : Project of Constructing berth 55 in Alexandria Port where it considered from the most important projects which constructed by the ministry of transportation as Alexandria Port is considered one of the most important Egyptian Ports where we export and import the majority of Egyptian cargoes, that was happened between The Minister of Transportation his Excellency Lieutenant General Eng. / Kamel ElWazeer and Mr. / Rodolf Saada - The Chairman and Executive Manager of the French CMA group to discuss how to support the cooperation in the field of the maritime field between the Egyptian Ports and the shipping line CMA that is one of the world shipping lines, then they discussed the cooperation in the maritime transport field where the French part showed his interest to invest in Alexandria Port specially in berth 55 where the minister assured that all maritime sports will develop them where the Egyptian government is interested in maximize the benefit from the maritime transport to support the national economy, where he pointed that the project of constructing berth 55 in Alexandria Port is considered from the most important projects which constructed by the ministry of transportation as Alexandria port is considered the most important Egyptian Ports where we export and import the majority of cargoes, and he pointed that constructing the multi purposes terminal in berths from 55 to 62 in Alexandria Port and it will be in area 560.000m and the length of berths 2480 and he clarified that we will join Alexandria Port with the dry 6 October Port where it is planning to construct railway (ElManshy - 6 October) with length 60km with estimated cost LE2.4 milliard to serve the dry port in October city where the ministry of transportation is planning to double the single line (Embaba/Elmanashy/Elatehad/Elkabary) in Alexandria. The French part was interested to investment in the field of dry ports, and logistic regions where the minister clarified that we prepare a complete plan to construct 7 dry ports and logistic regions in all republic levels and join them with railways to achieve preventing to congestion of cargoes and containers in maritime ports and supporting the Egyptian national economic to increase the revenues and facilitate the foreign and interior trade movement and reduce the cost of transporting the cargoes and improving the logistic services levels, achieve the integrated between the foreign and interior of the different means of transport and reduce from the environmental effects. 22-10-2019
