Regular loading and unloading works in Alexandria and Dekheila port, despite bad weather conditions

Redha Al-Ghandour, spokesman for the port of Alexandria, confirmed the regularity of the loading and unloading works, the regularity of ships, trucks, and goods, despite of the bad weather conditions. The ship movement administration in the port follows up the weather meteorological measurements regularly to ensure that the wind speed and the height of the waves record the rates that allow the movement of the launches, tugs and ships in a safe manner. Al-Ghandour added that the number of ships in the port has reached 84 ships, and loading and unloading operations are carried out on 41 ships, including 3 container ships, and the number of 4 petroleum ships, and the number of 22 general ships, and the number of 11 ships on the internal hook, and there are 24 ships in the external hook. Traffic of trucks: 9,000 general trucks were entered and exited from the governor of the port during the past twenty-four hours. Today two trains loaded with wheat shipment weighing 2900 tons headed to Imbaba and Assiut. Captain \ Tariq Shaheen, Chairman of the Alexandria Port Authority, stressed the necessity of continuing the work of loading and unloading, and the entry and exit of trucks and goods from and to the port naturally, taking into account being careful during loading and unloading operations in order to preserve the safety of life and property. Captain \ Shaheen also directed port leaders to pay attention to the human element in terms of training and rehabilitation in line with the latest port work systems, and urged increasing the rates of loading and unloading performance, the rates of movement of ships and trucks, reducing the length of time ships stay in the port, and facilitating the movement of entry and exit of goods to and from the port safely. Captain \ Tariq Shaheen stressed the necessity of activating maintenance plans inside the port, which include maintenance of roads, buildings, farms, sidewalks, squares, water surfaces, navigation marks, maintenance of locomotives, launches, marine units, electronic system, and monitoring systems. 24/12/2019
