Whereas, despite the negative effects caused by the Corona pandemic in 2020 on global maritime trade, Alexandria Port Authority achieved unprecedented positive indicators in December, as the rate of increase in the handling of contained cargoes reached to be 22.5% over the same month of 2019. It also achieved an increase of 13.86% in the handling of non-containerized cargoes, so that the total increase in the handling of all types of goods was 16.33%. In the same context, it should be noted that the percentage of what was handled by the General Authority of Alexandria Port alone this month represents 63% of the total handled by Egyptian ports in general.
