This system that allows coordination and advance planning for the berthing of ships upon their arrival at the ports of Alexandria and Dekheila, and the berthing on the berths previously allocated to them without the need to wait on the anchorage or delay in the loading process. This leads to achieving the objectives of the system, the most prominent of which is the speed of the turnover of the berths, the increase in the circulation rates, the enrichment of the confidence of those dealing with the port, in addition to reducing overcrowding and the removal of delay fines, which enhances the Egyptian national income, and ensures the flow of cargoes, goods and manufacturing mechanisms to the Egyptian market without Obstacles or delays, especially since the Alexandria Port Authority is the main crossing point for foreign trade movement to and from Egyptian territory. It is worth noting that Captain / Tarik Shaheen, Chairman of APA, issued his instructions to start implementing this initiative (JIT) at the end of September 2020, which proved successful in record rates by the end of the second quarter of the current fiscal year on December 31, 2020, that is, after only three months. From the start of the implementation, as nearly 600 ships were received by following that system during this relatively short period of time. His Excellency directed to the necessity of continuous work from the operational and technical aspects to include the application of this system to all ships visiting the port as soon as possible as part of the objectives of the Alexandria Port Authority during 2021, which seeks to achieve unprecedented circulation rates in Egyptian ports during this year. 1/28/2021
